Land for Parkview Park was deeded to the City 1969 with Donnay's Valley Park Third Addition plat as the developer's park dedication contribution. In 1995 with funding from the 1994 Park Bond Referendum, the park building located at the park was constructed. The City entered into a Joint Powers Agreement with ISD #196 to construct the facility on school property as the park abuts Parkview Elementary School. The park building replaced the portable warming house and is used year round.
