The Raven Lake Conservation Area was deeded to the City with the Raven Lake First Addition (PDF) plat in 1994. The conservation area is comprised of several outlots that include wetlands and a natural park area. Located within Outlot A is DNR Protected Wetland #369W. Just over 6-acres, Raven Lake is a preserve wetland which requires the highest level of protection during development as they are essential to the surrounding habitat. The natural park area is roughly three acres and includes walking paths that link to the City's trails and sidewalks system.

What Are Wetlands?

Wetlands are an important part of our ecosystem; they provide natural habitats for thousands of aquatic and terrestrial plants and animals. They also play an important role in water quality improvement by filtering out pollutants from surface water and they provide flood protection. You can learn more about wetlands by visiting our Environmental Resources webpage.

What is the Adopt-A-Park Program?

Adopt-A-Park is a public service program for volunteers to pick up litter, identify safety hazards and to freely communicate other issues associated with a particular park.

Program Guidelines

Adopt-A-Park is open to community groups, civic groups, churches and individual citizens for a minimum period of one year. Commitments may be for a longer term, preferably at least two years. Park sites are chosen on a first-come, first-served basis with priority given to past Adopt-A-Park participants. For more information about adopting a park, contact Lakeville's Parks Administration by email.
